Section 69

If the person for the time being in charge of an approved school is satisfied that a child—

(a)

whose period of detention in the approved school is about to expire needs further care or training; and

Child 93

(b)

cannot be placed in suitable employment without such further care or training, he may, if the Board of Visitors of the approved school consent, detain him for a further period not exceeding six months but any such period shall not extend beyond the date the child attains the age of eighteen years.
