Reduction of allowances by Parliament
The amounts specified in or under this Act as being the amount of any salaries, allowances or benefits payable out of moneys provided by Parliament and not charged on the Consolidated
Fund shall be taken to be the maximum amounts so payable, and notwithstanding the provisions of this Act or any provision made under it as to such amounts, the salaries, allowances and benefits payable in any month in respect of any office may be of lesser amounts than those specified or prescribed.
