Section 22

Section 22

Notwithstanding anything contained in this

Act, the

Corporation, upon giving, except in cases of emergency, at least twenty four hours’ notice to consumers whose supply it is intended to discontinue temporarily, may—

(a)

whenever unable for any reason to maintain a continuous supply of energy to all consumers, so far as the public interest demands and without undue preference as between consumers, discontinue to supply to some or all consumers for such period as will enable the best use, in the public interest and in the interest of consumers, to be made of the energy available; or

(b)

discontinue to supply energy for short periods whenever it becomes necessary for the purpose of carrying out repairs or of making new connections.
