Section 62

Any police officer not below the rank of sergeant or any officer in charge of a police station may, in conducting an investigation into any accident or occurrence whereby death or grievous hurt is caused to any person, in connection with which a motor vehicle is suspected to be concerned, enter any place to search for and examine such motor vehicle.

In this section, “grievous hurt” shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in section 320 of the Penal Code.
