of DIRECT SALES AND ANTI-PYRAMID SCHEME ACT 1993

Section 42

Power to exempt

(a)

that the proceeds from the direct sales business are to be used exclusively for charitable, welfare, social, religious or educational purposes;

(b)

that the person who seeks to sell the goods or supply the services is a person with disability;

(c)

that the person who seeks to sell the goods or supply the services is, in the ordinary course of his business, required to supply his goods or services by means of direct sale transactions for the convenience of the purchasers; or

(d)

that the giving of an exemption to such person or direct sales business will not, in the opinion of the Minister, prejudice the interests of the purchasers.

(2)

The Minister may at any time by order published in the

Gazette revoke any order made under subsection (1) if he is satisfied that such exemption should no longer be granted.
