Section 189

own a sewerage system; or

provide sewerage services, shall continue to be authorized under this Act to own or provide the aforesaid facilities and services for a period of one year from the appointed date or such other period as may be extended by the

Commission if such local authority registers with the Commission within three months or such other period as may be extended by the Commission after the appointed date.

The authorization granted to the local authorities under subsection (1) shall lapse if they fail to register with the Commission within three months or the extended period after the appointed date.

The local authorities may at any time prior to the expiry of the authorized period apply for a licence under this Act to continue to—
