Where an appropriate consent is given under subsection (1), a police officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of

Police shall, before the taking of the intimate sample or non-intimate sample, inform the person from whom the sample is to be taken—

(a)

that the DNA profiles and any information in relation thereto derived from the intimate sample or non-intimate sample may be stored in the DNA Databank and may be used for the purposes of forensic DNA analysis, police inquiry and for such purposes referred to in section 11;

(b)

that he may make a request to a police officer for an access to the information; and

(c)

that he may at any time withdraw his consent given under subsection (1).
