Section 31

(1)

No person shall issue or certify in writing the result of any food analysis for the purpose of determining the composition or specification of any substance or product consumed or used by, or intended for the consumption or use of the public unless he is a registered food analyst and has a valid annual practicing certificate.

(2)

Any person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both and for a subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
