Section 54

Section 54

(a)

that it has been opened for inspection; and

(b)

the reasons for opening the postal articles.

(2)

The licensee shall maintain a record of all postal articles opened which shall specify all relevant details including—

(a)

the date and time the postal article was opened;

(b)

the contents of the postal article;

(c)

the reasons it was opened; and

(d)

the names of the person opening and witnessing the opening who shall both sign the record.

(3)

The licensee shall submit, if requested by the Commission, a report to the Commission specifying in detail the circumstances of and the reasons for opening of the postal articles.

(4)

A licensee shall not disclose any information in relation to the postal article opened except to the extent required to comply with a court order or as permitted under this Act.
