Section 5
Section 7 of the principal Act is amended—
(a)
by substituting for subsection (1) the following subsection:
“(1) A person shall not establish, operate or maintain, or assist in establishing, operating or maintaining, or hold himself out as providing, operating or maintaining, a stock market or derivatives market that is not—
(a)
a stock market of a stock exchange;
(b)
a derivatives market of a derivatives exchange;
(c)
a stock market of an exchange holding company that is itself approved as a stock exchange;
(d)
a derivatives market of an exchange holding company that is itself approved as a derivatives exchange;
(e)
a recognized market;
(f)
an exempt stock market; or
(g)
an exempt derivatives market.”;
(b)
by deleting subsection (2); and
(c)
in subsection (5), by deleting the words “or (2)”.
