  1. IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsection 5(1) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 [Act 671], the Minister, on the recommendation of the Commission, makes the following order: Citation and commencement 1.

This order may be cited as the Capital Markets and Services

(Index Warrants) Order 2011.

This Order comes into operation on 4 October 2011.

Interpretation 2.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires, “index warrant” means a derivative that is traded on a stock exchange which the holder has a right to receive a cash amount or other property, depending on the fluctuations in the value or price of an underlying index.

Index warrants prescribed to be securities 3.

An index warrant is prescribed as securities for the purposes of securities laws.
