- PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 5 dan 6 Ordinan Perkapalan Saudagar 1952 [Ord. 70/1952], Menteri mengisytiharkan Yan dalam Negeri Kedah sebagai suatu pelabuhan mengikut pengertian Ordinan. Pindaan Pemberitahuan Undang-Undang No. 73 tahun 1953 2. Bagi maksud menentukan had pelabuhan, Pemberitahuan Undang-Undang No. 73 tahun 1953 [L.N. 73/1953] dipinda dalam Jadual Pertama, berkenaan dengan Negeri Kedah, dengan memasukkan selepas butiran 38 butiran yang berikut:

Preamble
- IN exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 6 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1952 [Ord. 70/1952], the Minister declares Yan in the State of Kedah as a port within the meaning of the Ordinance. Amendment of Legal Notification No. 73 of 1953 2. For the purpose of defining the port limit, the Legal Notification No. 73 of 1953 [L.N. 73/1953] is amended in the First Schedule, in respect of the State of Kedah, by inserting after item 38 the following item:
