NOTIFICATION UNDER SECTION 60

Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 60 of the Arms Act 1960 [Act 206], the Minister exempts the United States Seventh Fleet and the United States Marine Expeditionary Unit from—

(a)

the application of subsection 3(2) of the Act in respect of arms and ammunition intended solely for the purpose of training for the Exercise Tiger Strike 2024 between the United States Seventh Fleet and the United States Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Malaysian Army in Terengganu and Pahang provided that the arms licence granted to the United States Seventh Fleet and the United States Marine Expeditionary

Unit in respect of the arms and ammunition is in force; and

(b)

the application of subsection 5(1) of the Act in respect of arms and ammunition intended solely for the purpose of the Exercise Tiger

Strike 2024 between the United States Seventh Fleet and the United States

Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Malaysian Army in Terengganu and Pahang.
