Section 14

(1)

When a Native Court imposes a penalty in kind or in cash or orders the payment of compensation under the provisions of this Enactment, it shall have power to direct by its sentence that in default of payment of the penalty or compensation the offender shall suffer such period of imprisonment as will justify the justice of the case.

(2)

The imprisonment (if any) imposed under subsection (1) in default of payment of such penalty or compensation shall terminate when the penalty or compensation is paid or levied by the process of law.
