Section 68

Section 68

(1)

The Director shall within three years after the declaration of a fish sanctuary prepare and submit to the Minister a management plan which shall include –

(a)

a map clearly defining the boundaries of the fish sanctuary and a written description of such boundaries;

(b)

an analysis of the major resources of the fish sanctuary;

(c)

details of management objectives;

(d)

details of the zones in which the fish sanctuary is divided for fisheries conservation and management purposes which may include zones or parts of zones to which members of the public may be admitted;

(e)

a detailed programme of management action for conservation and protection of the fisheries resources and its habitats including details of requirements of staff, staff facilities and equipment and estimates of expenditure;

(f)

details of research proposals; and

(g)

such other matters as may be deemed necessary.

(2)

The management plans referred to in subsection (1) shall cover a period of five years.

(3)

Further management plans or revision of parts thereof shall be submitted to the

Minister at such intervals and in such manner as may be determined by the Minister.

(4)

The Minister shall cause the management plans and any revision thereof to be made available for inspection at the State Fisheries Department by members of the public.

(5)

A copy of the management plans or any revision thereof may be made available at the payment of a fee.
