Section 73

Notwithstanding anything in this Enactment or any other written law, on authorised officer shall have the right to be present at this site of any accident involving a railway for the purpose of investigating the same and preparing a report of the investigating and recommendations to be submitted to the Director.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is declared that for the purposes of this

Enactment, the authorised officer shall have all or any of the powers of a police officer of whatever rank in relation to police investigation in seizable cases as provided order the Criminal Procedure Code [Act 593], and such powers shall be in additional to the powers provided under this Enactment and shall not be in derogation thereof.
