Preamble

An Act to consolidate the Securities Industry Act 1983 [Act 280] and Futures Industry Act 1993 [Act 499], to regulate and to provide for matters relating to the activities, markets and intermediaries in the capital markets, and for matters consequential and incidental thereto. Act 671 Capital Markets And Services Act 2007 c.i.f. 28 September 2007[P.U.(B) 342/2007 - all the provisions of the Act comes into operation except Division 2 of Part VI of the Act.] 1 April 2010 [P.U.(B) 143/2010 [Division 2 of Part VI of Act comes into operation.] ENACTED by the Parliament of Malaysia as follows:

This Act comes into operation on a date to be appointed by the Minister by notification in the Gazette, and the Minister may appoint different dates for the coming into operation of—

(a)

different provisions of this Act; or

all or different provisions of this Act in respect of different classes, or categories of persons, securities or futures contracts.
