Opening note
This Act may be cited as The Titular Superior of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel (Incorporation) Act 1957.
Interpretation
“Corporation” means The Titular Superior of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel, Peninsular Malaysia as incorporated under section 3;
“successors in office” includes the Brother Procurator of the
Congregation of the Brothers of Christian Instruction of Saint Gabriel in Peninsular Malaysia when the office of the Titular Superior becomes vacant by the resignation or death of the holder of the office of the Titular Superior until the formal assumption of office by a successor.

Incorporation of The Titular Superior of the Brothers of
Saint Gabriel
The Corporation may—
acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description upon such terms as the Corporation thinks fit; and
sell, convey, assign, exchange, surrender, yield up, mortgage, demise, reassign, transfer or otherwise dispose of any movable or immovable property vested in the corporation upon such terms as the corporation thinks fit.
Common seal
All deeds, documents and other instruments requiring the seal of the Corporation shall be sealed with the seal of the
Corporation in the presence of—
when the office of the Titular Superior is vacant, the
Brother Procurator; or
The Titular Superior of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel (Incorporation)
the attorney of the Titular Superior or the Brother Procurator duly authorized by a power of attorney deposited pursuant to section 4 of the Powers of Attorney Act 1949
[Act 424].
All deeds, documents and other instruments duly sealed under subsection (2) shall be signed by the Titular Superior, the
Brother Procurator or the attorney so authorized, as the case may be.
The signing of the deed, document or other instrument shall be sufficient evidence of the due sealing of the deed, document or other instrument and the seal is the lawful seal of the Corporation.
Notification of appointment of Titular Superior
A notification in the Gazette of the appointment of any person—
to the office of the Titular Superior or Brother Procurator of the Congregation of the Brothers of Christian Instruction of Saint Gabriel, Peninsular Malaysia; or
to officiate as such Titular Superior or Brother Procurator, shall be conclusive evidence that such person is duly authorized to exercise the powers conferred on the Titular Superior or the
Brother Procurator, as the case may be, under this Act.
Corporation to have office in Peninsular Malaysia
The address of the office and any subsequent change of address shall be notified to the Secretary to the Minister who is responsible for social welfare, and particulars of the address shall be published in the Gazette.
