Short title and application.

This Act shall apply only to the States of West Malaysia.

Preamble
- An Act to empower racing clubs to promote public sweepstakes. [1st August 1965.] L.N.298/65. BE IT ENACTED by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 2
(1)
A racing club established in the States of West Malaysia may, after the commencement of this Act, promote a sweeptake in which any person (including a person not being a member of the club) may take part; and the Betting Ordinance 1953, shall not apply to any sweepstake so promoted.

In this section the expression "sweepstake" means any sweepstake promoted on the result of a horse race.
