Roman Catholic Bishop of Kuala Lumpur shall on that day vest in the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kuala
Lumpur.

Preamble
- WHEREAS the Titular Roman Catholic) Archbishop of Singapore Malacca, the Titular Roman /Catholic Bishop of Kuala Lumpur and the Titular Roman Catholic Bishop of Penang are incorporated by the Roman Catholic Bishops (Incorporation) Ordinance, 1957 (hereinafter referred to as 38/57. the Ordinance); Kian, published on ‘the 18th day of December, 1972, the Diocese of Kuala Lumpur was created an Archdiocese: and the Titular Roman Catholic Bishop of Kuala Lumpur was raised to the dignity of Archbishop; AND WHEREAS by a Decree of aber See of Rome AND WHEREAS by the same Decree of the Holy See of Rome made on the 18th day of December, 1972, the Archdiocese of Singapore Malacca was divided and the territory consisting of the Republic of Singapore became the Archdiocese of Singapore; and the territories consisting of the States of Melaka and Johor became the Diocese of Melaka Johor, and the States of Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Pahang and Trengganu became the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur and the States of Penang, Kedah, Perak, Perlis and Kelantan remained the Diocese of Penang; BE IT ENACTED by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in [S. 153] Short title. Change of name in respect of the Titular Roman Catholic Bishop of Kuala Lumpur. Incorpora-tion of the Titular Roman Catholic Bishop of Melaka Johor. 4 Acr 131 Parliament assembled, and by authority of the same, as follows: 1, This Act may be cited as the Roman Catholic Bishops (Change of Name and Incorporation) Act, 1974. 2, (1) The Titular Roman Catholic. Bishop of Kuala Lumpur, as incorporated under section 3 of the Ordinance otherwise called “the Kuala Lumpur Corporation” for the purpose of the Ordinance shall after the commencement of this Act be known as the Titular Roman Catholic Arch-bishop of Kuala Lumpur and shall continue to be called for the purpose of the Ordinance “the Kuala Lumpur Corporation”.
(3)
The change of name provided by this section shall not affect any rights or obligations of the Titular Roman
Catholic Bishop of Kuala Lumpur or render defective any legal proceedings by or against it; and any legal proceedings that could have been continued or commenced by or against it prior to the commencement of this Act may be continued or commenced under its new name.
Section 3
The Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting imme-diately after section 4 thereof, the following new section 4a—

The Melaka Johor Corporation may acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy all movable and immovable property of every description and may sell, convey, assign, surrender and yield up, mortgage, demise, re-assign, transfer or otherwise dispose of any movable or immovable property vested in it upon such terms as to such Corporation seems fit and may sue and be sued in respect of such property in any Court.”
4, (1) The Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of
Singapore Malacca as incorporated under section 2 of the
Ordinance otherwise called the Singapore Malacca Cor-poration for the purpose of the Ordinance in whom is vested all movable and immovable property situated in
Johor and Melaka belonging to the Singapore Malacca
Corporation immediately before the commencement of this
Act is hereby divested of all such movable and immovable property and all estates rights and interests therein.
(2)
All movable and immovable property referred to in subsection (1) and all estates rights and interests therein are hereby vested in the Melaka Johor Corporation for the respective estates rights and interests for which the same are held and the Melaka Johor Corporation shall have full power to deal with the said property.

Section 5 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by substituting for subsection (1), the following new subsection i
“(1) The expression ‘successors in office’ shall be deemed to include either an Administrator Apostolic or a Vicar Capitular of the Dioceses of Kuala Lumpur,
Penang and Melaka Johor from the time when the office of the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of
Kuala Lumpur, the office of the Titular Roman Catholic
Bishop of Penang or the office of the Titular Roman
Catholic Bishop of Melaka Johor becomes vacant by the resignation, absence or death of the holder of such office for the time being until the formal assumption of office by his successor.”.

Melaka Johor Corporation” for the words “Singa-pore Malacca Corporation, the Kuala Lumpur
Corporation, or the Penang Corporation” appear-ing in subsection (4).
