Preamble

An Act to amend the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996. [ ] ENACTED by the Parliament of Malaysia as follows: Short title

Section 1

This Act may be cited as the Private Higher Educational

Institutions (Amendment) Act 2014.

Section 2

Amendment of Part IV

The Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996 [Act 555], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in Part IV by deleting section 22.

Section 3

Amendment of section 23

Section 23 of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words “Except as is expressly provided under sections 21

and 22” the words “For the avoidance of doubt,”.

Section 4

Saving and transitional

All invitations made by the Minister under section 22 of the principal Act and applications made pursuant to such invitations immediately before the commencement of this Act shall, after the commencement of this Act, be dealt with as if section 22 of the principal Act had not been amended by this Act.
