Opening note
This Act may be cited as the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons (Amendment) Act 2014.
Amendment of section 6
The Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons
Act 1958 [Act 357], which is referred to as the “principal Act”
in this Act, is amended in subsection 6(1) by substituting for the words “not exceeding two years” the words “of not less than five years and not more than ten years”.
Amendment of section 7
The principal Act is amended in subsection 7(1) by substituting for the words “not exceeding two years, or to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or both, and in the case of a second and subsequent offence to imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than three years” the words “of not less than five years and not more than ten years”.
