PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh perenggan 127(1)(d) dan (e) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 [Akta 333], Menteri membuat kaedah-kaedah yang berikut: Nama dan permulaan kuat kuasa

Seksyen 1

(1)

Kaedah-kaedah ini bolehlah dinamakan Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan

Motor (Pembinaan dan Penggunaan) (Pindaan) 2018.

(2)

Kaedah-Kaedah ini mula berkuat kuasa pada 12 Julai 2018.

Pindaan kaedah 37A

Seksyen 2

Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan Motor (Pembinaan dan Penggunaan) 1959

[L.N. 170/1959] dipinda dengan menggantikan kaedah 37A dengan kaedah yang berikut:

“Hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle 37A.

(1)

Every hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle shall have a number of passengers carried in such hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicles in accordance with the seating capacity as specified in the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board

Act 1987 [Act 334] and the Land Public Transport Commission

Act 2010 [Act 715].

(2)

Any luggage carried by any hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle shall be placed in a boot or in any effective luggage space of such hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle, in such manner so as not to interfere with the maneuvering and safety of such hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle.”.

MOTOR VEHICLES (CONSTRUCTION AND USE) (AMENDMENT) RULES 2018

Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 127(1)(d) and (e) of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], the Minister makes the following rules: Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These rules may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use)

(Amendment) Rules 2018.

(2)

These Rules come into operation on 12 July 2018.

Amendment of rule 37A

Seksyen 2

The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Rules 1959 [L.N. 170/1959]

are amended by substituting for rule 37A the following rule:

“Hire car, taxi cab, limousine taxi cab and e-hailing vehicle 37A.

Act 2010 [Act 715].
