Citation 1.

These regulations may be cited as the Lotteries (Application for Permit)

Regulations 1953.

Application for permit 2.

(1)

An application for a permit to promote a lottery under the Act shall be made in writing, in duplicate and in the form specified in the Schedule.

(2)

The application under subregulation (1) shall contain all the particulars prescribed in the form.

N.B.—In the case of lotteries are to be promoted outside the Federation, the particulars given should include the details of the local application such as the names, addresses and occupations of the responsible local officials, and the numbers of tickets or chances to be offered for sale in the Federation.

NOTE.—This application should be addressed to—The Minister of Finance, if the total amount of the prices of the tickets or chances to be sold exceeds RM5,000; if such total amount does not exceed such sum the application should be addressed to the Menteri Besar of the State or the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of the

State of Malacca or Penang in which the lottery is to be promoted or conducted.
