- BAHAWASANYA Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya telah mengeluarkan writ pilihan raya pada 20 Oktober 2022 kepada Pegawai Pengurus semua Bahagian Pilihan Raya Parlimen bagi Dewan Rakyat dan dalam writ itu dinyatakan bahawa hari penamaan bagi setiap satu bahagian pilihan raya itu adalah pada 5 November 2022 dan bahawa jika sekiranya pilihan raya itu dipertandingkan maka hari mengundi awal ialah pada 15 November 2022 dan hari mengundi ialah pada 19 November 2022 dan notis mengenai writ itu telah sempurna disiarkan pada 20 Oktober 2022: DAN

- BAHAWASANYA telah ditunjukkan hingga memuaskan Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya bahawa Bahagian Pilihan Raya Parlimen P.017 Padang Serai dalam negeri Kedah, setelah pilihan raya itu dilaporkan sebagai dipertandingkan, seorang daripada calon-calon yang dinamakan iaitu Karupaiya a/l Mutusami meninggal dunia pada 16 November 2022: OLEH YANG DEMIKIAN ADALAH DIBERITAHU bahawa menurut subperaturan 11(6) Peraturan-Peraturan Pilihan Raya (Penjalanan Pilihan Raya) 1981, Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya membatalkan notis pilihan raya bagi Bahagian Pilihan Raya Parlimen P.017 Padang Serai bertarikh 20 Oktober 2022: P.U. (B) 562 3 DAN SELANJUTNYA ADALAH DIBERITAHU bahawa menurut subperaturan 11 (6), Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya menetapkan 24 November 2022 sebagai hari penamaan, 3 Disember 2022 sebagai hari mengundi awal dan 7 Disember 2022 sebagai hari mengundi bagi Bahagian Pilihan Raya Parlimen P.017 Padang Serai: Dengan syarat bahawa penamaan semula tidak perlu bagi calon-calon yang berkelayakan yang sah dinamakan pada tarikh yang diberitahu ini. - WHEREAS the Dewan Rakyat has become vacant in consequence of its dissolution on 10 October 2022 by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong: AND WHEREAS the Election Commission issued writs on 20 October 2022 to the Returning Officers of all the Parliament Constituencies for the Dewan Rakyat and in such writs specified that the day of nomination in respect of each such constituency was on 5 November 2022 and that in the event of a contested election advance polling day shall be 15 November 2022 and polling day shall be 19 November 2022 and notice of such writs was duly published on the 20 October 2022: AND WHEREAS it has been shown to the Election Commission’s satisfaction that in the Parliament Constituency of P.017 Padang Serai in the State of Kedah, after the election has been reported as contested, one of the candidates nominated, Karupaiya a/l Mutusami, died on 16 November 2022: TAKE NOTICE THEREFORE that pursuant to subregulation 11(6) of the Elections (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1981, the Election Commission countermands the notice of the poll for the Parliament Constituency of P.017 Padang Serai dated 20 October 2022: AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to the said subregulation 11(6), the Election Commission appoints 24 November 2022 to be the day of nomination, 3 December 2022 to be advance polling day and the 7 December 2022 to be the polling day in respect of election to the Parliament Constituency of P.017 Padang Serai: P.U. (B) 562 5 Provided that no fresh nomination shall be necessary in the case of qualified candidates who stand nominated as at the date hereof.
