Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 60 of the Arms Act 1960 [Act 206], the Minister exempts—

(a)

the United States of America Marine Special Force from the application of subsection 3(2) of the Act in respect of arms and ammunition intended solely for the purpose of training for the “Lantern Flash Mint Force Protection

Exercise by the Malaysian Armed Forces VAT69 – United States of America

Marine Special Force”; and

(b)

the United States of America Marine Special Force from the application of paragraphs 5(1)(a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) of the Act in respect of arms and ammunition intended solely for the purpose of training for the

“Lantern Flash Mint Force Protection Exercise by the Malaysian Armed

Forces VAT69 – United States of America Marine Special Force”.

This Notification is deemed to have effect for the period from 5 December 2016

to 5 January 2017.
