PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 34 Akta Makanan 1983 [Akta 281], Menteri membuat peraturan-peraturan yang berikut: Nama

Seksyen 1

Peraturan-Peraturan ini bolehlah dinamakan Peraturan-Peraturan Makanan

(Pindaan) 2012.

Seksyen 2

Peraturan baru 27A

Peraturan-Peraturan Makanan 1985 [P.U. (A) 437/1985], yang disebut “Peraturan-Peraturan ibu” dalam Peraturan-Peraturan ini, dipinda dengan memasukkan selepas peraturan 27 peraturan yang berikut:

“Botol susu yang dilarang 27A.

(1)

Tiada seorang pun boleh mengimport, mengilang atau mengiklankan untuk jualan atau menjual apa-apa botol susu yang mengandungi

Bisphenol A (BPA).

(2)

Perkataan “bebas BPA” boleh dilabelkan pada botol susu atau bungkusan botol susu yang tidak mengandungi Bisphenol A (BPA).”.

Peraturan baru 178A

Seksyen 3

Peraturan-Peraturan ibu dipinda dengan memasukkan selepas peraturan 178

peraturan yang berikut:

“Sarang Burung Yang Boleh Dimakan dan Hasil Sarang Burung Yang Boleh

Dimakan

Sarang burung yang boleh dimakan

P.U. (A) 35 3 178A. (1) Bagi maksud Peraturan-Peraturan ini, sarang burung yang boleh dimakan ialah sarang burung yang dihasilkan daripada bahan berkanji dalam air liur yang dirembeskan dalam dua kelenjar air liur sublingual burung walit daripada spesis Aerodramus iaitu Aerodramus fuciphogus, Aerodramus maximus atau spesis Collocalia yang sesuai untuk dimakan oleh manusia.

(2)

Sarang burung yang boleh dimakan boleh menjalani proses pembersihan termasuk pengasingan, perendaman, pencabutan bulu dan bendasing, pembentukan dan pengeringan.

(3)

Sarang burung yang boleh dimakan yang mentah dan telah menjalani proses pembersihan di bawah subperaturan (2) hendaklah mengandungi tidak lebih daripada 30 miligram setiap kilogram (mg/kg) nitrit yang hadir secara semula jadi.”.

FOOD (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2012

Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Food Act 1983 [Act 281], the Minister makes the following regulations: Citation 1. These regulations may be cited as the Food (Amendment) Regulations 2012. New regulation 27A

Seksyen 2

The Food Regulations 1985 [P.U. (A) 437/1985], which are referred to as the

“principal Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended by inserting after regulation 27 the following regulation:

“Prohibited feeding bottles 27A.

(1)

No person shall import, manufacture or advertise for sale or sell any feeding bottles containing Bisphenol A (BPA).

(2)

The words “BPA free” may be labelled on the feeding bottles or on the packages of the feeding bottles which do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA).”.

New regulation 178A

Seksyen 3

The principal Regulations are amended by inserting after regulation 178 the following regulation:

“Edible Bird’s Nest and Edible Bird’s Nest Product

Edible bird’s nest 178A. (1)

For the purposes of these Regulations, edible bird’s nest shall be bird’s nest produced from the glutinous material in saliva secreted in the swiftlet’s two sublingual salivary glands from the Aerodramus species which are

Aerodramus fuciphogus, Aerodramus maximus or Collocalia species which is fit for

human consumption.

(2)

Edible bird’s nest may undergo cleaning processes including sorting, soaking, picking of feathers and impurities, moulding and drying.

(3)

Raw edible bird’s nest which has undergone cleaning processes under subregulation (2) shall contain not more than 30 milligram per kilogram

(mg/kg) of nitrite which is naturally present.”.
