ELECTIONS (CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2024
Opening note
Preamble
- IN exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Elections Act 1958 [Act 19], the Election Commission, with the approval of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, makes the following regulations: Citation and commencement 1.
(1)
These regulations may be cited as the Elections (Conduct of Elections)
(Amendment) Regulations 2024.
(2)
These Regulations come into operation on 20 August 2024.
Amendment of regulation 4 2.
The Elections (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1981 [P.U (A) 386/1981], which are referred to as the “principal Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended in subregulation 4(4), by inserting after the words “the candidate seeks election”
the words “pursuant to regulation 9 Elections
(Registration of Electors)
Regulations 2002”.
Amendment of First Schedule 3.
The principal Regulations are amended in the First Schedule—
(a)
in Form 8, by substituting for the words “of which all persons are required to take notice and govern themselves accordingly” the words
“of which all persons are required to take notice accordingly”; and
(b)
by substituting for Form 9 the following form:
