PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 29 Akta Timbang dan Sukat 1972 [Akta 71], Menteri membuat peraturan-peraturan yang berikut: Nama dan permulaan kuat kuasa

Seksyen 1

(1)

Peraturan-peraturan ini bolehlah dinamakan Peraturan-Peraturan

Timbang dan Sukat (Pengkompaunan Kesalahan-Kesalahan) (Pindaan) 2024.

(2)

Peraturan-Peraturan ini mula berkuat kuasa pada 15 Julai 2024.

“Peraturan-Peraturan ibu” dalam Peraturan-Peraturan ini, dipinda dalam peraturan 3

dengan menggantikan subperaturan (1) dengan subperaturan yang berikut:

“(1)

Apabila suatu tawaran untuk mengkompaun apa-apa kesalahan dibuat di bawah seksyen 34A Akta Timbang dan Sukat 1972 oleh Ketua Inspektor

Timbang dan Sukat, dan tawaran ini diterima, pembayaran hendaklah dibuat kepada Ketua Inspektor Timbang dan Sukat atau mana-mana

Timbalan Ketua Inspektor Timbang dan Sukat secara tunai, kiriman wang, wang pos atau draf bank atau melalui kad kredit, kad debit, kad caj, kad prabayar atau apa-apa bentuk pembayaran secara elektronik yang lain yang kena dibayar kepada Ketua Inspektor Timbang dan Sukat.”.

(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2024

Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Weights and Measures Act 1972 [Act 71], the Minister makes the following regulations: Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures

(Compounding of Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 2024.

(2)

These Regulations come into operation on 15 July 2024.

Amendment of regulation 3 2.

The Weights and Measures (Compounding of Offences) Regulations 1990

[P.U. (A) 208/1990], which are referred to as the “principal Regulations” in these

Regulations, are amended in regulation 3 by substituting for subregulation (1)

the following subregulation:

“(1)

Where an offer to compound any offence is made under section 34A of the Weights and Measures Act 1972 by the Chief Inspector of Weights and

Measures, and this offer is accepted, payment shall be made to the Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures or any Deputy Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures in cash, money order, postal order or bank draft or through credit card, debit card, charge card, prepaid card or any other forms of electronic payment made payable to the Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures.”.

Substitution of Second Schedule 3.

The principal Regulations are amended by substituting for the Second Schedule the following schedule:

(a)

in cash or by money order/postal order/bank draft crossed with the words

“Account Payee Only” made payable to the Chief Inspector of Weights and
