ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT 1974

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (CONTROL OF PETROL AND DIESEL PROPERTIES)

(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2013

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 51 of the Environmental

Quality Act 1974 [Act 127], the Minister, after consultation with the Environmental

Quality Council, makes the following regulations:

Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These regulations may be cited as the Environmental Quality (Control of Petrol and Diesel Properties) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

(2)

Regulation 2 comes into operation on the date of publication of these

Regulations.

(3)

Regulation 3 comes into operation on 1 June 2015.

Amendment of regulation 4 2.

The Environmental Quality (Control of Petrol and Diesel Properties)

Regulations 2007 [P.U. (A) 145/2007], which are referred to as the “principal

Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended in regulation 4—

(a)

in subregulation (3), by substituting for the words “of not less than one hundred thousand ringgit and not exceeding five hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years” the words

“not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years”; and

(b)

in subregulation (4), by substituting for the words “of not less than three hundred thousand ringgit and not exceeding five hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years” the words

“not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years”.

Substitution of First and Second Schedules 3.

The principal Regulations are amended by substituting for the First and Second

Schedules the following Schedules:
