Section 35

Section 35

(1)

If the Director considers that it is expedient or necessary to involve members of a village or local community in the management and conservation of the fisheries resources or the fishery of an area or part of an area in riverine waters, he may place a proposal before the Minister recommending that such an area be declared a Community Fisheries

Management Zone.

(2)

The declaration of the Community Fisheries Management Zone shall be made by the Minister by notification in the Gazette, which shall state the date upon which the declaration shall come into effect.
