Opening note
This Act may be cited as the Methodist Church in Malaysia
Act 1955.
Incorporation and powers of the Secretary of the Trustees of the Methodist Church in Malaysia
The Secretary of the Trustees of the Methodist Church in
Malaysia shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and shall have a common seal and in this Act referred to as “the corporation”.
The corporation is hereby empowered to acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description, and to sell, convey, assign, surrender and yield up, charge, mortgage, demise, re-assign, transfer or otherwise dispose of, or deal with any movable or immovable property upon such terms as to the corporation deems fit.
Execution of documents, etc.
No deed, document or other instrument sealed with the seal of the corporation shall be deemed to be duly sealed unless such seal has been affixed in the presence of the person for the time being holding the office of Secretary of the Trustees of the Methodist
Church in Malaysia, or his attorney duly authorized by a power of attorney registered under the Powers of Attorney Act 1949 [Act 424], and unless such deed, document or other instrument is signed by the said person or his attorney.

Such signing shall be taken as sufficient evidence of the due sealing of such deed, document or other instrument.
Appointment
A notification in the Gazette of the appointment of any person to hold, or act in, the office of Secretary of the Trustees of the
Methodist Church in Malaysia shall be conclusive evidence that such person was duly so appointed.
Vesting of property
All movable and immovable property situated in Malaysia heretofore held, conveyed, assigned, granted, leased, transferred, transmitted to or otherwise vested in the Secretary of the Methodist
Episcopal Building and Location Board is hereby vested in the corporation for the respective estates and interests for which the same is now holden.

Saving of Crown and other rights
Nothing in this Act shall affect the rights of their Highnesses the Rulers of the States or of any body politic or corporate or of any other persons except such as are mentioned in this Act and those claiming by, from or under them.
Repeal
The Methodist Episcopal Location Board Ordinance of the
Straits Settlements [S.S. Cap. 249], the Methodist Episcopal Location
Board Incorporation Enactment of the Federated Malay States
[F.M.S. Cap. 103], and the Methodist Episcopal Location Board
Incorporation Enactment of the State of Johore [Johore En. No.
145] are hereby repealed.
