Amendment of section 17
Section 17 of the principal Act is amended—
(a)	 in subsection (1), by substituting for the words “Fellowship,
Associateship and Licentiateship” the words “Fellow,
Member and Licentiate”;
(b)	 in paragraph (2)(a), by substituting for the words “pass or honours degree” the word “degree”;
(c)	 in subsection (3)—
(i)	 by substituting for the words “an Associate” the words “a Member”;
(ii)	 in paragraph (a), by substituting for the words “pass or honours degree” the word “degree”; and
(iii)	 by substituting for paragraph (b) the following paragraph:

“(b)	 practical experience in chemistry of not less than three years for a degree or its equivalent or not less than one year for a masters or higher degree or its equivalent; and”; and

Chemists (Amendment)
(d)	 in subsection (4)—
(i)	 in paragraph (a), by substituting for the words “pass or honours degree” the word “degree”; and
(ii)	 by substituting for paragraph (b) the following paragraph:

“(b)	 practical experience in chemistry of not less than one year for a degree or its equivalent;
and”.
