Unlawful connection of water supply
of Water Services Industry Act 2006
(1)
No person other than a licensee shall make any connection to a public mains or service water pipe.
(2)
Where a service water pipe to any premises has been unlawfully connected to a public mains or to another service water pipe serving another premises, it shall be presumed until the contrary is proved that the unlawful connection was made by the owner or the occupier of the first-mentioned premises.
(3)
A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
Tampering with meter or sub-meter 124.
A person who tampers with a meter or sub-meter or causes the tampering of a meter or sub-meter used for the measurement of water supplied to any premises in such a manner so as to cause the meter or sub-meter to show incorrect readings commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
Tampering of water supply system or sewerage system or part of the systems 125.
A person who tampers with any pipe, channel, conduit or structure, sewer, manhole, chamber, fixture and equipment, including any valve, hydrant or any part of a water supply system or sewerage system commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
