Amendment of section 4
The Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia Act 1971 [Act 49], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in section 4 by inserting after subsection (2) the following subsection:
“(2a) Notwithstanding paragraph (2)(a), the licence for importers and exporters of fish shall be issued by the Director
General of Quarantine and Inspection and in accordance with the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Act 2011
[Act 728].”.

New section 11a
The principal Act is amended by inserting after section 11
the following section:
“Enforcement at entry points, quarantine stations and quarantine premises 11a. (1) Notwithstanding section 11, the enforcement in relation to fish at the entry points, quarantine stations and quarantine premises shall be carried out by an enforcement officer appointed under the Malaysian Quarantine and
Inspection Services Act 2011 in accordance with the powers under that Act.
For the purposes of subsection (1), “entry point”,
“quarantine station” and “quarantine premises” have the same meanings as assigned to these expressions in the Malaysian
Quarantine and Inspection Services Act 2011.”.
Saving
Any matters relating to the application for and issuance of licences for importers or exporters which are pending before the date of coming into operation of this Act shall not be affected by this Act and shall continue as if this Act had not been enacted.
