Section 18
(1)
No person who is not himself an aborigine of the same ethnic group shall adopt or assume the care, custody or control of any aboriginal child except with the consent of the Director General and in giving the consent the Director General may impose such conditions as he thinks fit.
(2)
Any person who acts in contravention of this section or commits a breach of any condition imposed by the Director General shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to

a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
