Section 14A
Power to investigate
of Printing of Qur'Anic Texts Act 1986
Any police officer not below the rank of Inspector or any public officer authorized in writing by the Islamic Religious Council of any State or Federal Territory, may investigate any offence under this Act.

For the purposes of this Act, any public officer authorized in writing by the Islamic Religious Council of any State or Federal
Territory, shall have all the powers of a police officer of whatever

rank as provided for in the Criminal Procedure Code [Act 593] in relation to police investigation in seizable cases, and such powers shall be in addition to the powers provided for in this Act and not in derogation thereof.
