(1)
The court before which a person is convicted of an offence under section 14,
17, 20 or 21 may order the destruction of an animal in relation to which the offence was committed, if the court is satisfied, on the basis of the evidence given by an enforcement officer or a veterinary authority that it is appropriate to do so in the interests of the animal.
(2)
If the court makes an order under subsection (1), the court may -
(a)
appoint an enforcement officer to carry out or arrange for the carrying of the order; and

(b)
order the person, if any, to pay the expenses of carrying out of the order.
