Port Consultative Committee
of Bintulu Port Authority Act 1981
For the purpose of advising the Authority, the Minister may appoint a Port Consultative Committee (referred to in this section as
“the Committee”) which shall consist of—
(a)
the Chairman of the Authority as chairman of the
Committee;
(b)
the General Manager, where he has not been appointed to be the Chairman of the Authority; and
(c)
such other persons as the Minister may determine.
(2)
In appointing members under paragraph (1)(c), the Minister shall have regard to any representations relating thereto made by users of the Port and by persons providing port services.
(3)
The Authority may consult the Committee on any matter concerning the Port and shall, if the Committee has been appointed, consult it upon the following matters:
(a)
any substantial alteration in the charges or scales of charges levied by the Authority;
(b)
any major scheme relating to the expansion or development of the Port; and
(c)
any other matter upon which the Authority is required by the Minister to consult the Committee.
(4)
The chairman of the Committee shall cause a copy of the minutes of its meetings to be transmitted to the Minister.
(5)
Subsections 4(3), (4) and (5) and the Schedule (except paragraphs 6, 7 and 9 thereof) shall mutatis mutandis apply to the
Committee and its members as they apply to the Authority and its members.
