Section 34

of *BIRTHS AND DEATHS REGISTRATION ACT 1957

Section 34

Any person who—

(a)

being a Registrar, refuses or without reasonable cause omits to register any birth or death or presumed death or particulars concerning which information has been tendered to him by a qualified person under section 7 or 19 or a person under section 24A and which he is required by or under this Act to register; or

(b)

being a person having the custody of any register carelessly loses or injures the register or allows the register to be injured, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding twenty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both.
