City of Kuching
(1A)
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri may, by Order in the Gazette, amend the First Schedule.

(2)
The area of the City of Kuching shall consist of—
(a)
the area under the jurisdiction of the Commission to be known as the City of Kuching North; and
(b)
the area under the jurisdiction of the Council of the
City of Kuching South to be known as the City of Kuching South.
(3)
For the purpose of administering the City of Kuching—
(a)
the City of Kuching North shall be administered by the
Commission which shall exercise all the powers conferred on it by the City of Kuching North Ordinance, 1988 [Cap. 49]; and
(b)
the City of Kuching South shall be administered by the
Council of the City of Kuching South which shall exercise all the powers conferred on it by the Local Authorities Ordinance, 1996
[Cap. 20].
(4)
Nothing in this Ordinance shall affect the validity or effect of any action, proceeding, conveyance, transfer, deed, transaction or act of any kind bona fide taken, entered into or done at any time prior to the coming into force of this Ordinance by or against or in the name or on behalf of the former Kuching Municipal Council or the former
Kuching Rural District Council.
