  1. An Ordinance to make provision for the Civil List of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri and for the remuneration of any person appointed to exercise the functions of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri. *[16th September, 1963] Enacted by the Legislature of Sarawak⎯ Short title and commencement

Section 1

This Ordinance may be cited as the Civil List Ordinance,

1963, and shall come into force on *Malaysia Day.

Section 2

Civil List of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri

⎯(1) There shall be paid for the Civil List of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri so long as he shall hold office the sums specified in the

Schedule.

(2)

All payment in respect of the amount specified in Part I and Part II of the Schedule shall be made to the Yang di-Pertua

Negeri. The amount specified in Part III is payable if Yang di-Pertua

Negeri does not reside in his official residence which is provided and maintained by the Government.

No payment in respect of any of the amounts specified in the Schedule shall be made in respect of any period during which the office of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri is vacant.

The Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri may, by Order published in the Gazette, amend the Schedule. Such Order shall be laid before Dewan Undangan Negeri.

Remuneration of person appointed to exercise the functions of the

Yang di-Pertua Negeri

There shall be paid to any person appointed under Article 1(3) of the Constitution of the State of Sarawak to exercise the functions of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri during any period in which he is so appointed such sums as may be agreed by the Majlis Mesyuarat

Kerajaan Negeri; and such sums may be in addition to or in substitution for any sums that he may otherwise receive from public funds:

Provided that the total of the emoluments payable shall not exceed the total of the emoluments payable to the Yang di-Pertua

Negeri during such period under this Ordinance.

Section 4

Sums to be charged on the Consolidated Fund

The sums required for the payment under the Schedule and section 3 shall, until the end of 1963, be charged on the revenues of

Sarawak and thereafter shall be charged on the Consolidated Fund of the State.

The amount specified in Part I of the Schedule and any sums payable under section 3 shall⎯

be payable monthly on the last day of each month, or on such other day as the State Financial Secretary may from time to time approve.
