Section 3

(1)

For the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of this Act, the Ruler or the Yang di-Pertua Negeri may appoint as many officers (in this Act referred to as "Rent Officers") as may be deemed necessary for such area or areas in the State as the Ruler or the Yang di-Pertua may specify in such appointment.

(2)

Every such appointment shall be published in the Gazette and every Rent Officer appointed under this section shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of the Penal Code.
