Procedure where defendant fails to furnish security or find fresh security

Section 17
Where the defendant fails to comply with any order under section 15 or 16 the court may order that he be detained in prison until the decision of the action:
Provided that—
(a)
no person shall be detained in prison under this section in any case for a longer period than six weeks; and
(b)
no person shall be detained in prison under this section after he has complied with such order.
