DECLARATION OF NATIVE RICE LANDS

Opening note

Preamble

  1. In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 3 of the Native Rice Cultivation Ordinance [Cap. 87.] and all other powers thereunto him enabling, the Governor has declared to be native rice land all land held under Native Title or registered in the names of natives lying within the jurisdiction of –

(a)

every Chief who has been duly appointed by the Governor under section 35 of the Rural Government

Ordinance [Cap. 132.} the following administrative districts:-

WEST COAST RESIDENCY

Jesselton

Kudat

Papar

Penampang

Ranau

Tuaran

INTERIOR RESIDENCY

Beaufort

Keningau

Kuala Penyu

Mempakul

Tambunan

Tenom;

(b)

every Native Authority duly constituted within the following Residencies:-

West Coast Residency

Interior Residency.

Gazette Notification No. S 174 of 1950 is cancelled.
