Powers of arrest
of Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority Act 1965
Any authorized officer or police officer may arrest without warrant any person whom he sees or finds committing or attempting to commit or abetting the commission of an offence against this Act or any regulations made thereunder, or whom he reasonably suspects of being engaged in committing or attempting to commit or abetting the commission of any offence against this Act or any regulations made thereunder if such person refuses or fails to furnish his name and address or there are reasonable grounds for believing that he has furnished a false name or address or that he is likely to abscond.
(2)
Any authorized officer or police officer making an arrest without warrant shall, subject to subsection (3), without unnecessary delay, bring the person arrested to the nearest police station.
(3)
No person who has been arrested by an authorized person or police officer shall be released except on his own bond or on bail or on the special order in writing of a Magistrate.
