Section 1
This Order may be cited as the Holidays (Amendment of Schedule) Order, 1978, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1979.

HOLIDAYS (AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULES) ORDER, 1978
Opening note
Preamble
- In exercise of the powers conferred under subsection (4) of section 3 of the Holidays Ordinance, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri hereby makes the following Order:
Section 2
The First Schedule to the Holidays Ordinance is hereby deleted and the following substituted thereof:-
“FIRST SCHEDULE
Every Sunday
The first day of January
Chinese New Year and the following day
Birthday of Prophet Mohamed
Good Friday 1st day of May (Labour Day)
The day preceding and the day succeeding the second Sunday in
May (Harvest Festival)
The Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong
Hari Raya Puasa and the following day
National Day (31st August)
The Birthday of His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri
Hari Raya Haji
Awal Muharram
Hari Keputeraan Nabi Mohammed S.A.W.
Christmas Day”
