Illicit intercourse between divorced persons
of Islamic Family Law (Federal Territory) Act 1984
Any man who, having lawfully divorced his wife, resumes cohabitation with her without having pronounced a lawful ruju’
commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding three months or both.
(2)
If his wife was not at the time of resumption of cohabitation aware of the occurrence of the divorce, the man commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or both.
(3)
Any woman who abets an offence under subsection (1)
commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or both.
