MOTOR VEHICLES (TAXIMETER) (AMENDMENT) RULES 2018

  1. IN exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 127(1)(g) of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], the Minister makes the following rules: Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These rules may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Taximeter)

(Amendment) Rules 2018.

These Rules come into operation on 12 July 2018.

Amendment of rule 9 2.

The Motor Vehicles (Taximeter) Rules 1959 [L.N. 176/1959], which are referred to as the “principal Rules” in these Rules, are amended in rule 9—

(a)

in the marginal note, by substituting for the word “six” the word “twelve”;

and

by substituting for the word “six” the word “twelve”.

Transitional 3.

Any taximeter in use shall, at any time within six months from the date of coming into operation of these Rules, be submitted for re-test in accordance with the principal

Rules as amended by these Rules.
