RULES 2018

Opening note

Preamble

IN exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 66(1)(o) and (p) of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], the Minister makes the following rules: Citation and commencement 1.

(1)

These rules may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Registration and

Licensing) (Amendment) Rules 2018.

(2)

Except for subparagraphs 2(b)(iii)(B) and (c)(iii)(B), these Rules come into operation on 16 April 2018.

(3)

Subparagraphs 2(b)(iii)(B) and (c)(iii)(B) are deemed to have come into operation on 1 April 2018.

Amendment of Fourth Schedule 2.

The Motor Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Rules 1959 [L.N. 173/1959] are amended in the Fourth Schedule—

(a)

in Part I – WEST MALAYSIA—

(i)

in item 1—

in paragraph (a), by inserting after the word “individual” the words “who is a citizen—”; and by inserting after paragraph (a) and the particulars relating to it the following paragraph and particulars:
